Computer Demonstration Center

NJ’s only Computer Demonstration Center promotes easy use of the computer and helps to locate the right tools for individual success! FRA’s TECHConnection is the only place where children, from tots to teens, as well as adults with special needs, can sample software and devices hands-on before you buy! Recognized nationally as an Alliance for Technology Access (ATA) center (one of 46), FRA interacts with internationally known technology developers and vendors, assistive technology professionals and shares with this nationwide network of technology resource centers to bring promising new technology to our community. As a Community Technology Center, the TECHConnection plays a vital role in assisting people with special needs gain access to critical technology.

Services are open to the community including infants and families and people of any age with
developmental disabilities or other limitations due to accident, illness or even aging.

Enjoy a visit to use the TECHConnection! Be amazed by:

  • 21 computer stations and adapted furniture for you to explore hundreds of special devices, switches, keyboards and mouse alternatives
  • 1000’s of unique software products for learning, language, employment and fun
  • Endless easy solutions to make the computer simple to use

Our demonstration center gives you the opportunity to try out products for the computer and the latest resources to find the best way to gain greater independence or productivity through advanced technology. Find new ways to improve your options, try the latest technology tools to connect you with education, employment, enjoyment and community participation.

Look at what else is available!

  • Lending Library filled with educational software, assistive devices, alternative communication basics and adapted toys.
  • Open Access Time is available every week. Specialists trained in “assistive technology” can guide the process, if needed, for a nominal fee.
  • Open House Tours are given on the second Friday of each month; or schedule a personal tour for your self or your group.
