planning, and item cost. Utilize the microwave and

generous grant, which will be used to expand these
after-school/Saturday programs for children and teens.
TEENS On Computers
Ages 13 – 19
Working at their own pace, students will use the computer to practice
keyboarding, word processing, creative writing, and exploring the Internet.
Supplemental academic software will be utilized to develop spelling,
organization, keyboarding skills, money skills, concepts of time and activities
to enhance creativity. Adapted input devices are available for students
who do not use the standard keyboard or mouse.
Teen Night
Join us for a cool computer activity and some fun socializing!
One Friday night per month TEENS will come together to use computers through
a variety of activities such as creating their own movie using Hollywood
software, creating their own beautiful greeting cards, making photo calendars,
competing in fun computer games such as bowling, pool, racing, and more. Each
month is a different activity. The evening finishes up with a snack and
discussion.
Kids on Computers
Ages 8-12
An opportunity for children to learn basics skills on a computer.
Supplemental academic software will be utilized to enhance learning skills:
Increase language, and reading skills, Improve spelling ability, Learn math and
money skills, Increase keyboarding/word processing , Have fun with creative
activities! Adapted input devices are available for students who do not use the
standard keyboard or mouse.
TOTS on Computers
Ages 3 to 7, with caregiver
Pre-school students and their parents explore computer-based learning.
We will be working on Early Learning Concepts and Language development. No
mouse skills are necessary. Children will have an opportunity to try out and use
a variety of input devices that best suits their needs such as the Intellikeys,
Touch Window and / or switches.
Tech Toddlers, Early Intervention
Ages 1-3
Early Intervention classes run by a certified Special Education Teacher. Fun
learning will include: circle time, music, a language activity, and gross/fine
motor activities. Families will use a variety of age-appropriate software
programs. No Mouse skills are necessary!
Writers' Workshop
For the LD Student
A series of classes to enhance writing skills
All students will need to schedule an interview prior to first class.
Computers and assistive technology will be used to help students gain
knowledge of these tools and how they can increase writing ability. Students
will learn: Word prediction to increase writing speed and spelling accuracy,
Draft Builder and/or Inspiration to assist with organizing thoughts, Screen
reading such as the WYNN program for students with reading challenges, the
Internet with software that will read aloud.
TechConnection
For Reading--After School Literacy Program
Does your child hate to read or write?
We can make reading and writing easier and more fun.
Students will have an opportunity to work with a variety of software
programs that will:
- Help them write with no spelling errors!
- Read faster—No stumbling on words!
- Increase comprehension—Read on grade level.
- Write a more comprehensive and organized school report.
- Use software to develop better reading skills!
- Learn about the use of Electronic Books!
Parents will have an opportunity to learn how they can help their child
find and use these solutions.
